Reasonable Doubt

In the legal system there is a determination of not guilty based upon Reasonable Doubt.  The following is proffered as such a case.  If it holds true then LGBT is genetic in nature.  God does not make mistakes.  In the true sense of that statement God knows the outcome of all things created by Him.

What the Gay Brain Looks Like

What makes people gay? Biologists may never get a complete answer to that question, but researchers in Sweden have found one more sign that the answer lies in the structure of the brain.

Scientists at the Karolinska Institute studied brain scans of 90 gay and straight men and women, and found that the size of the two symmetrical halves of the brains of gay men more closely resembled those of straight women than they did straight men. In heterosexual women, the two halves of the brain are more or less the same size. In heterosexual men, the right hemisphere is slightly larger. Scans of the brains of gay men in the study, however, showed that their hemispheres were relatively symmetrical, like those of straight women, while the brains of homosexual women were asymmetrical like those of straight men. The number of nerves connecting the two sides of the brains of gay men were also more like the number in heterosexual women than in straight men.

Just what these brain differences mean is still not clear. Ever since 1991, when Simon LeVay first documented differences in the hypothalamus of gay and straight men, researchers have been struggling to understand what causes these differences to occur. Until now, the brain regions that scientists have come to believe play a role in sexual orientation have been related to either reproduction or sexuality. The Swedish study, however, is the first to find differences in parts of the brain not normally involved in reproduction — the denser network of nerve connections, for example, was found in the amygdala, known as the emotional center of the brain. "The big question has always been, if the brains of gay men are different, or feminized, as earlier research suggests," says Dr. Eric Vilain, professor of human genetics at University of California Los Angeles, "then is it just limited to sexual preference or are there other regions that are gender atypical in gay males? For the first time, in this study it looks like there are regions of the brain not directly involved in sexuality that seem to be feminized in gay males."

Vilain, who studies the genetic factors behind sexuality and sexual orientation, notes that it may turn out that the brains of gay men possess only some 'feminized' structures, while retaining some masculine ones, and this is reflected in how they act on their sexuality. "We know from studies that men, regardless of their sexual orientation, retain masculine characteristics when it comes to their sexual behavior," he says. Both gay and straight men, for example, tend to prefer younger partners, in contrast to women, who gravitate toward older partners. Most men are also more likely than women to engage in casual sex, and to be aroused by visual stimuli. "So I expect that some regions of the brain will remain masculine even in gay men," says Vilain. For something as complex as sexual orientation, it's no surprise that everything from genes to gender to environment may play a role in ultimately determining your perfect partner.

Why can't people realize that the possibility of Reasonable Doubt does exist and stop “Judging others lest they be judged.”

Dale Howard

One would think that the laws and penalties pertaining to Sodomy would put an end to the debate regarding "Same Sex Marriages" especially as it applies to males.  But low and behold Sodomy laws have been lessened and almost become extinct in many states unless it is tied to a kidnapping/rape situation.

I have not read this book as i have too many others awaiting my attention.  But I get the concept.  Many especially those of religious upbringing believe that homosexuality is a choice/lifestyle.  I submit to you what if it isn't...REASONABLE DOUBT:

Why can't people realize that the possibility of Reasonable Doubt does exist and stop “Judging others lest they be judged.”

Because ignorance is not a justification to base an opinion on.  Science has raised issue with the genetic factors relating to one's sexual preference.  If we become judgmental without having all the facts then we continue to only get one side of the occurrence. Only in death will we find out the truth about all things including death itself and this topic might just be a mute point of no significance.  My posting was a F.Y.I. in an attempt to let people know that there is a circumstance that may create Reasonable Doubt.  I would hope that people would want to base their judgment/opinion given all pertinent information. For one I was being honest and secondly not all of my submission was contained in this review but obviously those in charge of monitoring this post thought that it contained merit or they would have disallowed it all together.

I am not against Same-Sex-Marriage. I raised two issues. One concerning the Sodomy laws and the second research done in Sweden and the Netherlands looking into the genetic query as the result of autopsies done on homosexual brains.  I've worked in the legal profession and Reasonable Doubt plays a significant role in the justice system.  When California banned Same-Sex Marriages, I thought to myself, why wouldn't Sodomy statutes come to play in this arena.  I researched it found that Sodomy laws had been diminished there.  I just found it interesting, that's all!  Further research on my part led to me finding references that suggested through autopsies that male homosexual's hypothalamus gland is smaller than straight males gland.  Which immolates the size of that possessed by a female.  It also pointed out that female's hypothalamus glands which were found to be the same size as males took on more masculine roles.  It's not conclusive but it is interesting.  Hence, I have issue with any religion that believes that homosexuality is a lifestyle choice and can be easily eradicated.   If it is truly genetic in nature (albeit Reasonable Doubt).  Then who are we to be judgmental!

If someday these theories are further proven and it is definitively proven that homosexuality is linked to genetics.  That is why I postulated that God doesn't make mistakes ... perhaps he is only testing us.  As Betty Eadie pointed out in her book "The Ripple Effect" where she speaks of a hardened atheist who upon passing from this life and meeting Jesus was told that he had fulfilled his mission on Earth.  For if there was no one to raise the issue as to whether "God existed or not" then how would people know to ponder on that question and seek out the truth for them selves.

Cliff there is no mention of evaluation of the hypothalamus gland as it pertains to each twin.  This might prove interesting!  I am open to all opinions and only make reference to other studies as they raise interesting questions.  We may never know the answer in our lifetime but I am pretty sure that we are not Gods.  All that I know is that I have no problem accepting homosexuals as friends, who am I to judge anyone.  This issue as in all issues will be dealt with at an appropriate time!

Here is another response to something that was posted on Facebook

study on twins prove that gay orientation is not genetic:

I'm open to anything.  I was directed to this book by a friend's posting on Facebook.  Hence, I responded to the subject matter.

But here is my response to the above and the person who submitted it.
